Are there any other kinds of costs or expenses?
Our fees include consulting with you, performing a knock-out search, drafting and submitting your application, reporting to you throughout the process, answering your questions, and obtaining your registration certificate once approved.
Sometimes there are additional expenses payable. For example, some extensions of time if you require one, cost CAD $125 payable CIPO or USD $125 payable to the USPTO. If you are relying upon a foreign trademark registration for your application, there is a CAD $50 fee. We will explain any potential additional fees, if applicable, in advance.
Sometimes the official trademark examiners raise concerns regarding your application. If these are minor concerns such as rewording the application, we handle that for you free of charge. If however, there is a major objection which requires legal arguments, we will provide you with a reasonable flat rate or hourly rate for preparing legal arguments for you.
